There’s nothing like warm baked treats! These Apple Pastry Donuts are perfectly flaky, golden, and filled with sweet apple slices. Best of all, they’re dairy, soy, and egg-free, making them great for sensitive tummies. Let’s get baking!
Ingredients:
- 1 sheet puff pastry (the Woolworths brand is soy free!)
- 1 medium green apple
- 1 tbsp melted coconut oil (for brushing)
Opt:
Cinnamon sugar or ground cinnamon for dusting
Method:
1. Line a baking tray with baking paper and preheat oven to 180c.
2. Remove puff pastry from freezer and allow to partially defrost while completing the next
steps.
3. Peel and core apple. Make core hole slightly larger, similar to a donut. Slice apple thinly
into rings.
4. Cut puff pastry sheet into strips approx 4-5cm wide.
5. Wrap each apple ring with pastry overlapping the pastry a little as you go. It may be
easier to use multiple, shorter pieces of pastry when doing this.
6. Place pastries on baking tray and brush with coconut oil. Dust with either cinnamon
sugar or plain ground cinnamon (optional).
7. Bake pastries for 20-25 mins or until golden
